Preliminary research

My first task as IHR Digital Project Officer is to report back on the current state of podcasting in academia. The obvious place to start is iTunesU but it surprised me just how much there is already out there in University’s own websites. Most of this is coming from American Universities but there is a growing trend in the UK – with Oxford and the Open University seemingly leading the way. The majority of resources provide a basic package of a podcast with a brief synopsis but there certainly are more inventive initiatives out there.

Welcome to the IHR Digital Seminars and Research Training Blog!  This is what I hope will be the first of many posts on this blog over the coming year to keep you updated on our progress.  The idea of this blog is to provide a Project Officers point of view (that’s me by the way) of the development, testing and eventual release of the IHR’s latest initiative.

This project seeks to provide a virtual environment for the IHR’s internationally renowned seminar programmes and for its postgraduate research training modules.  Please have a look at the ‘about the project’ page for more details.

At the moment this is the only online presence for this project but I promise more will follow soon.
